What is thedecorshelves?
Thedecorshelves is my art project - a space where I can express myself freely through design. I’m Vratislav Pecka, a Czech designer and artist, and I’ve always believed that a poster doesn’t have to promote an event or product. For me, it’s a creative playground where I explore ideas, shapes, and colors.
My work is defined by simple geometric forms and vivid, striking palettes. It’s mainly inspired by my personal sense of nostalgia for the 90s - a time that left a strong visual mark on me.
Most of the time, I’m not trying to communicate a specific message or deep meaning. The goal is simple: to create something visually engaging that catches the eye and brings a moment of visual pleasure.
How it started
I started the thedecorshelves project in 2016. Since then, my style has been constantly evolving - I’ve never liked sticking to just one look or formula for too long. Over the years, decorshelves gained traction on social media and even received a few major international design awards, which has been an incredible honor.
Today, I work as a full-time artist and I’m always open to collaborations, especially with clients who are looking for something with a personal, artistic edge. thedecorshelves has also found its place in the digital art world - my work is featured on SuperRare, one of the most respected NFT platforms out there, showcasing only a select group of contemporary artists.
I’ve had the chance to exhibit both solo and as part of group shows across the globe - from Shanghai and Paris to London and New York. On the South Korean market, I’m proudly represented by Pinzle
